What to expect..
What to expect during your initial Osteopathic Therapy appointment?
This is where the MAGIC happens!
We are going to have a great conversation about you. A deep dive into your body’s history to understand how it has got you here today. We will talk about your health history including accidents, trauma, surgeries, health conditions in the past and present. Pretty well everything. This provides a great opportunity for you to ask me questions also. Then we are going to assess how your body moves and make a note of any limitations by testing range of motion, muscle-resisted and special orthopaedic tests. This will help to confirm or to rule out potential dysfunctions. This evaluation will provide me with the information I need to uncover the root cause of your concern and determine the best approach to treatment. We are going to get to know each other very well, and have a lot of laughs along the way.
What to expect for your first Therapeutic Massage
appointment?
After a discussion about your primary concern. I may choose assess your movement by challenging your range of motion, muscle-resistance and special orthopaedic tests to confirm or rule out potential issues. Based on the information I gather from seeing you move, we will then formulate a treatment plan to address your concern. This therapeutic treatment will employ techniques such as ischemic compression, active engagement, facilitated shortening, retraining of neuromuscular function, neural mobilization techniques, joint mobilization and diaphragmatic breathing.
